The spitting up resume

It's no secret that Micah is a "spitty" baby. We go through a lot of bibs and burp rags in this house on a daily basis. Micah is a pro when it comes to spitting up. Recently, Micah has added a new "skill" to his spitting up resume, which include:
  • The "original" spit up, where Micah spits up AFTER producing a very loud, adult sounding burp.
  • The "secret" spit up, where you finish burping Micah and you're happy that the very loud, adult sounding burp wasn't followed by the "original" spit up--only to find that it was...and your arm, clothes, and chair now need to be washed.
  • The "projectile" spit up, where Micah spits with enough force to miss his bib and outfit but hit the wall or anything else that's within a two foot radius.
  • The "I told you so" spit up, where perfectly happy (and silent) Micah turns into a babbling baby, only to open his mouth and spit up at you.
  • The "raspberry" spit up, where Micah begins by blowing a raspberry but adds a bit of spit up to his drool.
Micah added the "sprinkler effect" spit up, which he's been perfecting this week. As you're burping Micah, he'll turn his head as far away from you as he can, making sure that he's out of range of his bib, and begin a raspberry spit up. As he turns his head toward you, he slowly spits up, making a line of spit up from the arm of his onesie to your cheek.

To my delight, Micah was practicing his sprinkler effect spit up yesterday, but as he finished it, he looked at me and gave a hearty giggle, as if to say, "Wasn't that cool?" Oh man...all I could do was laugh!

Lucas does the original spit up. It's the grossest sound ever and inevitably ends up down our shirt collars. Thankfully, he has yet to be a "spitty" baby... hopefully it's something that Micah will grow out of.
