11 months

Another month has passed as we continue to watch Micah grow up. I know I say this each month, but this month flew by. I think our excitement for house guests and trips made the time pass that much faster.

This month brought many new things to our home. The word "no" has been prevelant, as Adam and I teach Micah was is and is not OK for his to play with, bang, touch, or bite. Micah is slowly learning what this word means, but we've also seen a bit more of his personality as well. We've come to the conclusion that Micah is a strong-willed child, so we get to be stronger-willed parents.

As we teach Micah "no," we also try to remember to encourage his good behaviors, which are more abundant than the not-so-good ones. Micah loves to:
  • Walk (with our assistance or a push toy).
  • Say "AHH" (translation: HI!) to people when he enters a room with a lot of people.
  • Get people's attention and then play shy when they look at him.
  • Roar like a lion.
  • Clap.
  • Give kisses at unexpected times.
  • Pull up to standing on just about anything he can reach.
  • Eat!
One of his favorite new skills is pointing. He's extremely curious about everything, so when he wants to know what something is (or wants something), he points at it.

Micah's also adding cleaning the floor to his list of new skills. Ok, not really, but the Swiffer is a fun toy.

We've also introduced the texture of grass to Micah. He's not a big fan of it touching his feet, so we've been easing him into it, hence the blanket and the tarp.

We can't believe that next month, our little guy will be one year old. I'm still adjusting to the fact that we're parents!
