- Spending a few minutes with a sleepy Micah each morning before I leave for work.
- Hearing little feet come to the door when I return home. "Daddy's home!"
- Hearing about Shannon's day and sharing mine with her--something we've done for almost 8 years.
- Giving Micah a bath. (I hope to say the same for Elly right now... as soon as she begins to enjoy them and not scream.)
- Reading books with Micah or Elly and watching them engage with it... whether it's telling me what's in the book (Micah) or just chewing on the pages (Elly).
- Relaxing with Shannon in a quiet house. Sometimes we have nothing more to say and just stare at books or the television together. But at least we are together. And I wouldn't trade that for anything.
- Watching the kids grow. They are so different in personality and in what they're learning. They both have such wonderful smiles and such challenging tantrums. But they are still fun to watch... if we could just get more breaks from them too :)
