Our "babymoon" to Maui: Days 7-9

Thursday was a sad day because we had to say goodbye to Dan and Andrea. We had a photo shoot on the beach outside our condo and then drove them to the airport. Maui wasn't the same without them, but we made the best of our remaining time on Maui.

Adam and I moved to a hotel in Wailea and enjoyed the beautiful beach the rest of the day.

Friday was our last full day on Maui, and we explored some new sites that we hadn't seen yet. The guide books said that the Big Beach was the beach people think of when they think about Hawaii--and they were right! Sand and bright blue water as far as your eyes could see!

We saw several people climbing over a lava ridge to what we thought was another black sand beach, so we followed them. The view of the Big Beach was beautiful; however, there was no black sand beach on the other side of the ridge...it was the Little Beach, which is also known as a nude beach on Maui. Adam and I quickly (well, as quick as I could) climbed our way down the way we came and walked the Big Beach, trying not to make eye contact with the people going to the Little Beach.

After we had enough beach time, we drove through Maui's last lava flow, which reminded me of my family's vacation to the Big Island.

We spent our last night in Maui watching a beautiful sunset on the beach and talking about the great time we had on vacation.

Before we jumped on our plane back home on Saturday, we watched the sun rise and some paddle surfers start the day off on the calm ocean.

Our vacation was restful and exciting, but we were ready to come home and start preparing for our next big adventure...Baby Wilson.

You look so great and in shape Shannon! Not long now huh? How wonderful that you and Adam had a chance to get to Hawaii this year. Hope the next two months go by quickly until the arrival of baby!!!! By the way - what is your actual due date or are you trying to keep it secret so the paparazzi don't show up at your hospital bedside?

:) Thanks for your comments, Autumn! My "due" date is April 22, but we'll see how accurate that is. :)
