Our second class

Yesterday we had our second pregnancy class. After we did the typical class activies (weighing in, checking my blood pressure, and meeting with the midwife), we talked about common pregnancy "complaints," like cramps, back pressure, dizziness, etc. This discussion made me very glad that we chose group pregnancy classes. As we talked, I find myself agreeing or sympathizing with other pregnant moms-to-be who are having similar "growing pains" as I am. Also a bonus, I don't have those, "Oh man! I should have asked that question!" moments as soon as I leave the class because someone usually brings up the same question I have.

Here's a quick summary of yesterday's check up:

• Total weight gain thus far: 3.2 pounds (The midwife says I'm doing excellent on my weight gain.)
• Baby Wilson's heartbeat is now ~140 beats per minute, still a very healthy heartbeat.
• Baby Wilson is negative for all of the genetic tests we had done. Praise Him!
• Biggest surprise of the night: I found out I'm NOT immune to chicken pox! Despite me having about 100 pox on my back as a child--and of course playing with many kids who had the illness and never having it again--I'm still not immune. So, I have to be very careful in the coming months not to be around anyone who has (or may be a carrier) of this illness. I will be vaccinated post partum, but that's still several months away.

Also while in class, several couples shared their results of their ultrasounds! I was especially excited for all of the to-be parents! I really can't wait for December to come, so we can share the exciting news of Baby Wilson's gender with you all!
