Our third class

Tonight's class got off to a bit of a rough start. I'm not sure if it was the ice on the road or the new classroom, but our class was missing a few couples and started a bit later. It really doesn't matter though; it was a good class nonetheless.

Starting with our next class, the soon-to-be parents will be split into two groups because there's just too many of us. I think this split will be a good thing because we'll be able to get to know all of our classmates a bit better than we would if we stayed in the big group.

Here's an update on Baby Wilson's (and my) status:
  • Total weight gain thus far: 6 pounds (I'm still right on target.)
  • Baby Wilson's heartbeat is holding steady at about 140 beats per minute.
  • I found out that the rib pain I'm experiencing is normal. As Baby Wilson grows, he's pushing all of my insides up...into my ribs. I guess I just have to keep practicing my posture and walk as much as I can.

We talked about stress management and breastfeeding tonight. I think stress management is where I need to focus my attention right now. (I'm not mentally prepared to think about breastfeeding yet.) I really think that if I can actually figure out what relieves my stress, I'll be a bit more prepared for labor and just feel better all around. Here's to less stressful days...somehow.
